What information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
-
Contact/enquiry form: first name, last name, email address, and your answers to questions about what coaching help you're looking for.
-
Newsletter sign-up: your email address, if you opt in to receive updates and communications.
-
Purchases and bookings: if you buy a one-off coaching session or subscribe to an ongoing coaching package through our online shop, we (via Wix Stores) collect information necessary to process your order and payment, including your name, billing address, email address, and payment details. For subscriptions, this also includes information needed to process recurring payments until you cancel.
We do not operate a members area or user accounts on this website.
We may also automatically collect limited technical information via Wix's built-in analytics (such as pages visited and general location/device data), which helps us understand how the site is used. This is covered separately below under Cookies.
How we use your information
We use the information collected to:
-
Respond to your enquiry and discuss coaching services with you.
-
Process and fulfil one-off purchases and manage ongoing subscriptions, including recurring billing.
-
Send you newsletter updates, if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us directly.
-
Understand general site usage to improve the website.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
-
Consent — for newsletter sign-ups, and for submitting the enquiry form.
-
Contract — for processing your order or subscription when you make a purchase, so we can provide the coaching service you've paid for.
-
Legitimate interests — for responding to enquiries and improving our website, where this doesn't override your rights.
Who we share information with
We use third-party service providers to help run this website:
-
Wix.com — our website builder and hosting provider, which processes data on our behalf to operate the site, contact forms, and email sign-ups. Wix's own privacy practices are set out at www.wix.com/about/privacy.
-
Wix Stores / Wix Payments — used to process one-off purchases and subscription payments. Payment card details are handled directly by Wix's payment infrastructure and its payment processing partners; we do not store your full card details ourselves.
We do not share your information with any other third parties except where required by law.
Cookies
This website may use cookies via Wix's platform for essential site functionality and basic analytics. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. For more detail on Wix's cookie practices, see Wix's Cookie Policy at www.wix.com/about/cookie-policy.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, provide coaching services, or for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. Records of purchases and subscriptions are kept for as long as required by UK tax and accounting law (typically six years). You can ask us to delete other data at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
-
Access the personal information we hold about you.
-
Request correction of inaccurate information.
-
Request deletion of your information.
-
Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribing from the newsletter).
-
Object to or restrict certain processing.
-
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data hasn't been handled properly.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at darrencaingolfcoach@gmail.com.
Children's privacy
This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
